The yellow roses symbolize joy, gladness, and friendship. The butterfly’s metamorphosis from a caterpillar and emergence from it’s chrysalis symbolize rebirth and resurrection. To the Chinese and Japanese the butterfly is a sign of both immortality and joy. In Chinese art, butterflies combined with plum blossoms symbolize long life.
